How many of you swap tires of your stock sport wheels for the winter?
They don't salt the roads here, so I am not too worried about my wheels getting rocked for the winter. So I figured it would be easier just to swap tires. It would be easier for me to store them without wheels on them as well.
FWIW, the guys at Tires Plus said swapping won't hurt the tires. They did add a couple of scratches to my wheels, though.

It can be more costly than buying a set of wheels to mount the snow tires. I do not know if you have ever seen how tires get mounted, but it is tough on alloy wheels. If the technican (and I use that term in high regard for some wheel people) makes a mistake you can damage the wheel or the tire. It is easily done.
I just had a set of M2 mounted on my wheels. Now all I have to do is wait for the snow to come and jack up my car and bolt on the wheels. No making appointments to get the tires changed. No having to worry if they will mar up the wheels. No worry that they strech the tire and cause it to need balancing.
Please don't be cheap on this issue. Get wheels - even if they are steel.
