re050a pole position treadwear...
I'm new to the high performance tire world. This audi is my first "real" car. On all my previous cars always got what was cheap or whatever the salesman said I needed at discount tire.
I just ordered and received a set of potenza re050a pole positions. After doing hours of research I finally decided to go with them for a few different reasons. They were rated #1 on tirerack and because they honestly sound like the best of the best (or pretty damn close to it) as far as street tires go. Also at $142 a tire they were signifigantly cheaper than all of my other options. They look good and I'm running blizzak lm25s as my winters right now and bridgestone has definitely made a good impression on me with those.
Now that they have arrived I notice that they have a treadwear rating of 140. Something I definitely overlooked during my hours of research. Like I said, I'm new to this. So are they going to wear signifigantly faster than a tire with a treadwear rating of say 280? I know a lot of it depends on my driving habits but i'm going to be bummed if these tires last me a season or two.

Bridgestone is in the process of updating the wear # that is stamped on the sidewall from 140 to 280. Some of the newer release sizes are already coming through as 280.
