Section Width vs. Tread Width
Section width is the cross section of the tire and Tread width is the width of a cross section of tread?
If so, what is the tread width on the Kuhmo 712 205/40/17?
Thanks
Tread width is what it sounds like what it is.
Section with is tread width plus bulging out sidewalls plus rim protectors, etc.

Section width is affected by the width of the rim. On a wider rim, the tire section width will be larger because the tire gets stretched out more.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&url=%2Ftires%2FSpec.jsp%3Fmake%3DK umho%26amp%3Bmodel%3DECSTA%2BSupra%2B712">Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 Specs from Tire Rack</a></li></ul>
