Tire replacement?

Howdy everyone. I need some quick sound advice. Just got my 2019 A5 Prestige with the 19" wheels and summer tires. I have the extended warranty that covers tires. One of my tires needs to be replaced under warranty. I want to put an all season tire on instead of a summer tire. Dealer said you shouldn't do that. You should have all the same type of tire on all four wheels. While i agree with his position, I still want that tire to be an all season tire. I can replace them one by one before winter comes.

Since these are expensive-ish tires, I want to take full advantage of the warranty coverage. Will it really make a difference at this point in the season to have one tire that is an all season and the others summer tires. I don't have anywhere to store winter/summer tire packages, nor the money.

Should I insist on the all season replacement or go with the summer tire? I need to push this issue either way today. They have my car and are searching the city for a summer replacement tire so I need to let them know asap if I want them to get an all season tire instead.

I have 2020 SQ5. got rid of summer tires it came with and went wtih all season Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4.
EXTREMELY satisfied and mileage is BETTER!!!

I am curious as to whether you did mount a single all-season tire along with the three existing summer performance tires.

Your Audi dealership or a tire dealer would certainly advise against mixing summer performance tires with an all-season tire. It could possibly result in dangerous handling.

No..... I replaced ALL 4 tires at once.

Replaced just the one summer tire. Will replace all 4 tires in late fall to all season or winter tires whichever I find at the best price. I would have loved to replace the one tire with an all season but I totally understand the problem/danger in doing so. I was hoping to only have to replace 3 tires which I would have done right away if we hadn't gone down this rabbit hole of repairs.

It is always disappointing when you have a single tire requiring replacement when the other three are halfway thru their wear cycle. One solution I have used in the past is locating a used tire that is identical to the other three. The solution takes some luck finding the exact same tire you already have on your car.
