A true all-round performance car

If you have a family and passion for performance cars, it can be difficult to reconcile the two. But Audi has always provided great solutions for those for like to go fast, and have a family to take along. The latest RS7 is an excellent example of that: combining a large liftback body with some amazing stats.

Thunderous twin-turbo V8

Behind the 2020 RS7's grille is a twin-turbocharged 4-liter V8 engine. It features direct injection and all manner of trick valve timing tech. Peak power rates at 591 hp and there is 490 lb-ft of torque to shove it along. Drive is to all four wheels, as you would expect from a powerful Audi, and an eight-speed automatic transmission manages the pace.

A five-door with massive pace

When you scrutinize the numbers, it becomes clear that despite having a large, luxury interior and lots of luggage space, this Audi is basically a five-seater supercar. The new RS7 will o-60mph in 3.6 seconds and power on to a top speed of 174mph, if customers specify the delimited version. Those numbers place it amongst a realm of very exclusive performance cars.

Details to keep it cooler when going faster

The updated styling elements present on this new RS7 are not merely for show. They serve a very real purpose in making this Audi more stable at speed, and to provide sufficient engine cooling too. The bumper now features a larger triangular air duct at each corner and the hood shut line also has an additional air slot. The new split-spoke, five-blade alloy wheels are gorgeous too, and measure a full 22-inches.

Your favorite lounge piece won't feel as good again - after these

Inside, you get absolutely superb RS-specification seats. Shaped to support the spine, these seats are delightfully comfortable if you need to spend hours at the wheel. They also feature an intricate padding pattern, which keeps your back muscles supported and relaxed. With ample side bolsters, the RS7's seats do a great job of keeping the driver and front passenger stable during high-speed cornering.

A futuristic cockpit which feels intuitive

Audi has always been a trend leader with interior design and the new RS7 is no exception. It features the comprehensive Audi digital cockpit, with a multifunction instrumentation binnacle. You can configure your instruments a number of different ways, to display the readouts and vehicle data you require. And it is all relayed in the best possible, high contrast pixel quality.

You'll always know exactly what you are getting into

There is a lot of positive reinforcement with RS7. Audi reminds customers of its latest performance car exactly what they have bought, with a puddle light display, RS-floor mats and badged sill plates. You even get a carbon-fiber side skirt with this new RS7.

No car this fast, should be this practical

Audi has taken a position to fit all its new RS7 cars with air-suspension, which reduces both brake-induced pitch and cornering roll. Beyond the dynamic appeal, the RS7's big drawcard remains its space. Here you have a car capable of tremendous acceleration and overtaking performance, that also has 24.9 cubic feet of luggage space in the rear. Better yet, you can fold down the rear seats, and increase the RS7's load capacity to a huge 49.1 cubic feet.
