2024 Audi SUV Buyer's Guide: Everything You Need to Know

Though we've still got several months left in the 2023 calendar year, the 2024 automotive model year has officially arrived, meaning that we're in line for some updates, refreshes, and redesigns from every automaker out there. Audi is no exception to this rule, and recently released all of the pertinent details about the changes in store for its own lineup. Here, we've condensed all of that info for our readers - in this case, all of the updates present in the 2024 Audi SUV lineup that shoppers will want to know about.

Q3

Now in its second generation, the Audi Q3 has quickly become one of the brand's best-selling models, and as such, has received a few small updates for the 2024 model year. That includes the addition of Adaptive Cruise Assist as standard equipment, while a wireless charging pad is now available as an option, and HomeLink - which is part of the Convenience Package - has been integrated into the rearview mirror. In terms of colors, the 2024 Q3 adds Arkona White and Progressive Red Metallic to its list of available hues, while Ibis White, Tango Red Metallic, and Turbo Blue have all been discontinued.

Q4 e-tron & Q4 Sportback e-tron

New for 2022, the Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron understandably aren't getting any major changes for the 2024 model year, but Audi continues to tweak its all-electric portfolio, regardless. For the new model year, the Q4 e-tron family gets Adaptive Cruise Assist with Lane Guidance as standard equipment, steering wheel paddles that adjust regen braking, and rearview mirror-incorporated HomeLink with the optional Convenience Package for the Q4 40 e-tron and Q4 50 e-tron Premium trims, though that package is also standard on the Premium Plus and Q4 50 e-tron Prestige.

Q5 & SQ5

The Q5 is Audi's top-selling model line, but it isn't carrying on into 2024 unchanged. Rather, Audi Active Lane Assist, remote engine start capability with the myAudi app (except the Q5 PHEV), and a heated steering wheel with Hands-on Detection (HoD) all become standard for the new year. Additionally, models equipped with the Premium Plus trim have gained the Navigation Package as an option, while the Q5 45 gets standard front sport seats and Gray-Brown Birch natural wood inlays. Those that opt for the Q5 45, Q5 55, and Q5 45 Sportback can get a new, enhanced Black Optic Plus Package that adds dark styling elements, while in terms of exterior colors, Arkona White replaces Ibis White in the entire lineup.

Q7 & SQ7

For the 2024 model year, the Audi Q7 gets its own list of updates, including the addition of Adaptive Cruise Assist as standard equipment, as well as Remote Start via the Audi Connect app. Premium Plus and up trims gain the Executive Package as an option - which has added traffic sign recognition to its list of features - along with the LED interior lighting package. Q7 55 Prestige customers can opt for the S Line Sport Package for the very first time, while the Q7 Prestige can also be paired with optional HD Matrix-design HED headlamps with Audi's laser lights, as well as the optional Dinamica headliner, to boot.

Q8, SQ8, & RS Q8 (Stay Tuned)

The ONLY model unmentioned in this 2024 update is the Q8 family, which includes the SQ8 and RS Q8. Apparently, Audi plans to share information about "the brand’s flagship SUV for the 2024 model year" later this calendar year in 2023. 

What does this mean? 

We can only speculate at this time, but rumors indicate that, since the Q8 e-tron (next slide) now exists and takes up the 8-spot in the lineup, Audi plans to rename the gas-powered Q8 as the Q9 for its mid-cycle refresh. Stay tuned for more!

Q8 e-tron & SQ8 e-tron

Though it plans to communicate changes for the Q8 later in the year, Audi did give us all the details regarding the 2024 Q8 e-tron, which gets a larger 114 kWh battery pack, restyled front and rear fascias, new wheel designs, and laser-etched badging on the B-pillar. Adaptive Cruise Assist with Lane Guidance is now standard, while a 19.2 kW/80-amp onboard charger and second charge port on the passenger side are now available as part of the optional AC Charging Package. 

Performance is enhanced as well, with the three motors present in the Audi SQ8 e-tron and Audi SQ8 Sportback e-tron churning out 94 horsepower and 228 pound-feet more than the outgoing model, with the new total coming in at 496 hp and 718 pound-feet of torque. This results in improved acceleration as well, with 0-60 taking just 4.2 seconds, as well as more range, though Audi hasn't yet reveled just how much.
