5 Times Audi Cars Starred in Hollywood Movies
Everyone remembers the Audi-sponsored appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But here are five Hollywood Audis you might have forgotten about.
Audi A8 in Transporter 3
Jason Statham starred in the unforgettable Transporter movie franchise where he played the role of Frank Martin, a supernaturally skilled driver, and a certified badass. In each movie, he is tasked with transporting an entity to safety, while a slew of enemies are after him and his passenger. While in the first movie, a BMW 7 series is Martin's vehicle of choice, the second, third, and fourth films all feature the formidable Audi A8. A TV series reboot of the Transporter franchise also prominently features the Audi.
Audi R8 Spyder in Fifty Shades of Grey
Unlike The Transporter, this next film isn't centered around cool cars and ridiculous driving stunts. Instead, Fifty Shades of Grey is a favorite among the female audience, with the storyline created as an erotic fantasy. The mid-engine Audi is driven by the main character, Christian Grey. It isn't involved in any raunchy scenes, though. So the German brand had no problems with its flagship product being on display in the film.
Audi TT Roadster in Legally Blonde 2: Red White & Blondie
Another famous 'chick flick,' Legally Blonde 2 also showcased the Four Rings on the big screen. Viewed by some as a cute and girly car, the first-generation Audi TT makes an appearance as the vehicle of choice for Reese Whitherspoon's character, Elle Woods. The candy blue paint hue was created especially for this character, but Audi proceeded to make this color available for fans of the movie to purchase in real life!
Audi S8 in Taken
The Taken film trilogy is one of the better-known action movie franchises in recent memory. Some scenes from the movie are even still relevant in meme culture! In the movie, Liam Neeson, who plays the main character Bryan Mills drives an Audi S8 as he chases down the villains who have taken his daughter hostage.
