7 Reasons to Be Thankful for Your Audi
With Thanksgiving coming, here are seven reasons why you should be thankful to be part of the Audi family.
1. World War ll
In 1948, the manufacturer known as Audi was dismantled, which was due to the after-effects of the war. Like most German factories, Audi was in no place to continue with its business, the damage was simply too extreme. Thankfully for all of the Audi enthusiasts, in the late 1950's, Audi was resurrected, went back in business and continued until this modern day.

2. 75 Years of Crash Tests

3. Hand-Picked R8 Employees
If you are a fan of the Audi R8, you should know that only the best, most-qualified employees get to work on your favorite car. Building an R8 requires 5000 parts and 70 hours of hard labor, which is why Audi only allows the employees that have been working with them for decades to be a part of the manufacturing of this vehicle. Un-coincidentally, most employees in this department have gray hair.

4. Audi X-Ray Check
Audi is extremely thorough and likes to pay attention to the smallest of details. For each and every car that is built, Audi performs an X-Ray to ensure the frame and the body are in perfect, straight condition, which means regardless of the Audi you pick, it will be perfect.

5. Five Inch Turbo
Having a turbo on your Audi makes it accelerate much faster. When the turbo sucks in blasts of air, it pushes it into the engine, thus creating an explosive pick-up. The Audi TT RS comes standard with a turbo that is connected with a five-inch elbow, which forces an incredible amount of air into the engine, thus tremendously increasing its acceleration.

6. First German Left-Hand Drive
If it wasn't for Audi, we wouldn't be enjoying the German cars in the USA. Audi was the first to make a left-hand drive German manufactured vehicle, which quickly paved the way for other German cars, like the Mercedes-Benz. The introduction of the first left-handed drive German car was in 1921 when Audi released the Type K.

7. Quattro Counter Conservative
Although we know Audi as a daring, unique vehicle, it wasn't always like that. Audi had a reputation of being a conservative vehicle up until the 1970s, so the manufacturer decided to produce the all-wheel-drive rally car, the Audi Quattro, which was their way of breaking out of the conservative boundaries and into what we see today.
