Audi Reveals Special 25 Years of RS Anniversary Package

A quarter century of great all-wheel drive performance cars

Audi is celebrating 25 years of its famous RS performance car brand this year with a string of cool tweaks. A quarter-century of great quattro performance cars is a big deal for Ingolstadt and to mark this occasion, there is a new special edition trim level. Available on a range of 2020 RS cars (such as the new TT), this "25 years of RS" anniversary package should appeal to followers of the brand. Especially those who are thinking of their next RS-spec Audi as a  possible collector’s item. 

You want a blue one - trust us

Beyond the new TT, Audi is also offering its 25 years of RS package on the latest RS7 model. The sleek sloping roofline five-door coupé, with its 4-liter bi-turbo V8 engine, is one of the most potent vehicles that the automaker creates. Although Audi will offer customers a range of colors for its anniversary package, the signature color is Nogaro Blue.

Traces of the original RS2 Avant

The inspiration for this ‘25 years of RS’ anniversary package comes from Audi’s legendary RS2 Avant. Quite fitting, then that its spiritual successor, the current RS4 Avant, is one of the models which is eligible for the anniversary trim option. It is also the RS2 Avant’s blue color which inspired Audi’s product planners to select Nogaro Blue as the launch color for the anniversary package.

Some classy touches inside

Aside from the Nogaro blue color, what else distinguishes the ’25 years of RS’ anniversary package from other cars? Well, inside the interior designers have added cobalt blue piping to some of the floor trim. This same blue is repeated on the seat patterning also with the Valcona leatherwork. As with all the highest option Audi RS models, the anniversary trim added perforated leather, which has superior energy distribution and airflow. Those changes result in a comfier driving position as well as a longer time behind the wheel.

Clever number play

Another one of the unique features are the special seat insignias. A clever and considered graphic design render the ‘2’ and ‘5’ numerals in a striking pattern, next to Audi’s celebrated RS badging. It will also reinforce the value of your RS vehicle, each time you open the door to go for a drive.

Lighting up its legacy

Audi’s technicians will also encode each and every ’25 years of RS’ anniversary edition car, to proudly display its special edition detailing. The puddle lights will flash an illuminated graphic of the special RS logo each time you trigger the immobilizer to lock or unlock.

Wheels of purpose

That new fancy intricate 25-year logo even appears on the wheel centers. Audi’s RS performance brand might be the youngest amidst the German high-speed automotive sub-specialists, but it has certainly given a good account of itself, over the last quarter of a century.
