Audi's Smart Energy Network Gives as Well as Takes
Audi breaks new ground in electric powered vehicles. Engineers found a way to feed the power grid, rather than draw from it, easing the fears of energy distribution specialists. Find out how Audi plans to revolutionize personal transportation once again and step into the future of electric powered vehicles.
Audi Addresses the Main Concern
Way back when electric cars first became a "thing," engineers had legitimate fears of overtaxing the power grid. If electric (plug-in) cars were to have become super popular, super fast, then city power grids could have faced some serious challenges.
Audi has now designed a vehicle, and a plan, to ease that concern. Their plan is to generate and store energy through batteries and the sun. They call it the Audi Smart Energy Network.

Welcome to the Audi Smart Energy Network
Zurich and Ingolstadt will be the first to test out the new Audi Smart Energy Network. The program is designed to store energy in batteries while harvesting power from the sun.
The problem with solar power is that it is not always sunny outside. The storage batteries will provide a backup power storage for rainy or otherwise sunless days.
The power storage is linked to your home, and the excess power is used to give back to the energy grid. This way, electric cars would not pose a danger to the stability of a city's power grid if thousands of people begin driving them.

Prepare Yourself for the Future
In the very near future, it is possible that we all will be used to plugging our cars up at the end of the day. Your garage will take on a whole new significance once Audi's groundbreaking energy ideas take hold. Don't hold your breath for an instant transformation, but the future is clearly in electric powered vehicles.
