Maybe it will help defeat Thanos?

The E-Tron GT will reportedly go into production virtually unchanged from the concept says Audi's head of design, Marc Lichte. The vehicle will also make its mark in Tinseltown by appearing in the upcoming film Avengers Endgame. The move is not surprising given the impact that this electric Audi will have on the marketplace and the relationship that the company has had with Marvel's film studio over the years.

I'd take this over a Model 3

The E-Tron GT was developed with Audi's sport division lending a heavy hand in the process, reportedly resulting in 582 horsepower and a 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds. The 4 door will pack a 90-plus kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a claimed 248-mile range. Audi claims that it will take about 20 minutes to recharge the battery to 80% of its capacity. The E-Tron GT shares the platform it's riding on with the Porsche Taycan but the two cars are so different inside and out that the windshield is the only thing they share.

Finally a lust worthy EV

"This is a metal sheet body already, and you can imagine how close it is with a metal sheet body," remarked Marc Lichte, in a conference as reported by Motor Authority. "We started working on the e-tron [GT] two years ago when I first saw the Taycan, and we thought about, 'what if we use this platform, and do an Audi version on top of it without sharing detail in the exterior or interior?'"

Saying goodbye to range anxiety

Audi's E-Tron models will be the first EVs to make use of Electrify America's national DC supercharging network that will rival that of Tesla's supercharger stations. The Electrify America program is part of Volkswagen's $2 billion settlement with the EPA for the Dieselgate emissions scandal that rocked the auto world recently. The DC infrastructure will be the first supercharging network outside of Tesla's and will be open to all-electric vehicles. Electrify America CEO Giovanni Palazzo promised that 500 charging locations would be built by June of 2019 with 160 of them in California.

Here's to the future

The final pens down design of the E-Tron GT will be revealed in late 2020 at presumably that year's LA Auto Show, which means its appearance in Avengers will be another "concept." As for who will be behind the wheel of this svelte sedan in the film, we've got our money on none other than Tony Stark, of course.
