5 Essentials for Those Summer/Winter Days

You know about the necessities to keep in your trunk: first aid kit, jumper cables, spare tire, flashlight, etc. These are the items you should always keep in your car in case of any emergency, but here are the nonessentials, but still important items you should be equipped with for the summer or winter.

1. Sun Shade

This is already a common item in most cars. Sun shades are great for keeping the interior from wearing and/or cracking. Keeping and using a sun shade will also reduce the heat by 40 degrees or conversely help keep warmth inside during those cold days. There are even sun shades for snowy weather that can be placed outside of the windshield.

2. Umbrella

Like the sun shade, an umbrella can be used for both hot and rainy days. There are days when one forgets that it is supposed to rain, or just forgets to watch the weather. An umbrella can save you from getting soaked and possibly sick. Just knowing that you have a backup umbrella in the trunk will save you from remembering to grab one before heading out the door.

3. Extra Clothes

If you have ever gotten stuck unprepared during a rainy storm, then you know how uncomfortable wet clothes and water-filled shoes feels like. Take into account that you will be sitting in your Audi soaking up the seat with the defroster on in case of condensation. A pair of sweatpants, dry socks, and a sweater are going to come in handy. You should include either summer or winter clothes. Also, include extra shoes (or sandals), hat (or beanie), and anything else that would make you comfortable.

4. Blanket or Towels

If above happens to you, you will need a towel to dry up or to at least sit on to keep your seat wet-free. While a blanket could do the same, you might want to use it for extra warmth. Or, you can use this for an unexpected day at the beach.

5. Portable Picnic Blanket or Beach Chair

If you want to keep your blanket and/or towel clean for an unexpected rainy day, then you might want to keep a picnic blanket or beach chair available. Those foldable picnic blankets won’t take up much room and are easily carried. If you spend a lot of your free time in the park or beach, then a chair is a handy item to keep in your trunk.
