After rebuilding the head on my A4 B6 Convertible I've got a serious leak on the right side of the engine. Or maybe at the rear, oil is everywhere. I thought initially it might be the oil feed to the turbo but the oil on that line doesn't look to be anywhere near enough for the mess this is making.

Is it possible that the head gasket is leaking? I tightened the head down using a torque wrench in the correct order to torque (can't remember what it was), then 1/4 a turn and another 1/4 a turn.

Could there be something making it build up excessive pressure in the system forcing oil our everywhere?

So by feed line you are talking about the one from the oil filter housing, around the rear of the head, then wraps around the side of the head, then attaches to the turbo. Your sure thats not leaking?? Yes a head gasket can leak oil if you damaged the gasket or didnt clean the surface enough near an oil pressure passage. Other thought would be valve cover gasket edge pulled in.

Thanks for the help, after getting everything cleaned up it looks as though oil was coming from around a grub screw on the rear left of the head, then tracking all over the place.
That screw is directly above the oil line, hence the reason it was covered in oil.
Now just to get it cleaned up again and see if there's still a problem.
