Rebuilding head, how far do I go?
I'm waiting for the diagnosis from the machine shop on the head I dropped off. I bought the car with a supposed bent valve diagnosed via scope by the closest Audi dealer. I pulled the head and didn't see any bent valves so I'm waiting to see what they find. When I dropped it off they said they have seen more than a few with worn valve guides. I have also read that the sodium filled exhaust can be an issue. The car is a 2000 A4q manual with 165k. It's in very nice shape but of course is not very valuable. I plan on keeping as long as I can if my wife likes it as much as her old '96 we sold to adopt our youngest son. Short story long, what SHOULD I do while I have it apart? Obviously I depends on what they find, but what are your opinions on what is a must do and what is not really necessary?

I dunno I have done plenty of heads, some with 190-200k miles, I just remove them, replace the bent valves and lap them in, and all the guide seals, as well as all the lifters. Yet to have an issue. Whole head will not need rebuilt.
