Dear Audi fellow fans,

I am the proud owner of a 1998 A4 B5 1.8T Quattro AEB engine in Europe, and I have been experiencing something funny ever since I took the car to a local garage for servicing.

For all I know, when I took the car in, the Ln1 inspection interval was flashing on the odometer. I was told they had serviced the vehicle, changed the oil, and reset the interval.

As far as I know my car differs from others in that it does not offer two trip odometer readings, but just one. Before taking the car to the garage the (only) partial trip odometer kept going until I reset it at the next full petrol tank.

After picking it up from the garage, it always resets itself after (I believe) every two engine starts, and at the same time the trip computer average speed, avg consumption, and trip time are also reset. I really hate this and I have heard that maybe VagCom can be used to solve this problem. If so, would anyone be so kind to elaborate on how?
