Default Stock Timing belt brand

Hello everyone, new guy here. Just wanted to ask a question that i have not seen answered yet haha.
I got around to taking the timing belt cover off on my car just to take a look at if someone changed it yet and marked it.
I found no marks but the brand was a contitech ct 1088 belt.
My question is; does audi/vw put this belt in stock? Or did someone change it before. My car has 70k on it currently.

Factory belts are usually Dayco and have the Audi rings and a VW on them.

More than likely continental or a subsidiary makes it. But maybe there's another mfg sourcing them.

When I had my timing belt changed on my 1.8T VW, the mechanic placed a sticker, with millage on batt cover. It was also a "Continental" brand belt and sticker. Moral of the story, look for a sticker in the engine bay. It cost me about $800 incl oil change and other minor stuff.

Im thinking it has been replaced before, but im hearing responses from various sources that contitech makes the stock belts, and that mine is aftermarket so im not sure what to believe.
Another clue is that the top piece of my 2 piece timing belt cover has been cut quite a bit to make it easier to get on and off, so not sure what to think of that

You could remove the whole upper cover and see if the water pumps an original Audi/VW pump or an aftermarket one. They are plastic impellers, who knows if before you got it, the pump failed and they just did the belt too.
