Car will not unlock with the fob or key

Car will not unlock with the fob or key
Hi guys
I have a 03 Audi A4 Tdi 130 sport
I drove it home yesterday from work no problem parked on the drive and locked with fob all good
Came out to leave for work in morning used fob to unlock car nothing so put key in drivers door lock turns fine but nothing so retry both a few time but nothing so tryed the boot lock which opened the boot but nothing else hazards start going off when I opened the boot
Hope some one can help as I'm now locked out of the car with the keys

Do the hazards flash at full brightness? If not, maybe the battery has died. Always thought unlocking by turning the key was a full manual operation but don't recall if their is a vaccum activation for the door unlock or not.
What happens when you turn the keys both ways, lock and unlock. On my B6 I hear a light "thunking" of the door locks when I turn the key on my 2005 A4.
