Default programming keys

i had to unhook my battery for some work and thus lost functionality of my remotes... anyone know how to reprogram them (btw....i am VAG-less).

i tried some steps that i read about in one of the tech articles...

insert one key into ignition, turn one click forward.
insert other key into driver door and lock doors by turning the key to the right.
press the unlock button once.
while keeping the key in the door unlock the doors by turning the key to the left.
done.

i also just tried this procedure that i found in my manual...

press either button A (unlock button) or C (lock button) once.
now use the master key to unlock or lock the door manually.
done.

>> neither of these worked for my 03. any ideas?

Default only had the car 3 months, so battery should still be good.. ..

yes the key still starts the car... the key was working but i unhooked the battery from the terminal to reset some odd things happening on my dash..... and since i did that the remotes don't work... so i'm assuming i just need to reprogram them, but i don't seem to be doing it right.

Default try these instructions:

1) first key in ignition, turn car to on position(but do not start car).
2) roll down window, close door. (paranoia never leave key ignition with lock doors and windows up)
3) use second key to lock door. leave key in lock.
4) click unlock button on the second key, then use to key unlock the car. remove key.
5) open door.
6) turn off car.
7) test second key.

Then repeat for the key that was in the ignition.

Default GOT IT>>> info inside

1. Get into your car and make sure all doors are closed.
2. insert key 1 into ingnition and turn to accessory.
3. Wait 5-7 seconds and then get out the driver side door.
4. close door and insert key 2 into the door and turn it to the right.
5. let the key turn back to the normal position.
6. press the unlock button X times *** (see below)
7. wait 6 seconds.
8. press the unlock button once more.
9. done.

*** - if neither of your keys are working press this one time to program the first key and press it two times when you program the second key. Think of it as telling the car "ok, this is my X set of keys."

*** - if you have one working key and one non-working key, then press the button 2 times.
