Difficulty replacing key fob shell
Hi guys,
I purchased a new key fob shell replacement off ebay for my keys, as they are quite old and grimy.
Anyway, going by the wisdom of the internets i saw that i needed to pry the two parts of the key apart, which was no problem, then pry the circuit part apart, again no problem. However i couldn't get the circuit board out even after holding a soldering iron on the brass caps as i found on some forums. Might have to solder through the plastic from the other side, however i would rather not ruin the key. Also, getting the side with the actual key in it apart is seemingly impossible. I've removed the screw under the Audi logo, but i cannot get these two sides apart. For everyone else it seems they just kinda fall apart.
Anyone know how i could get this stuff sorted without ruining the original key?

Circuit Board Brass Pins Removed
I did it now and removed the pins from my old key FOB.
-Heat the solder iron to the max ( for about 5-10 min)
-Place the tip on the brass pin for about (10-15 sec)
-Try to nudge the pin with the tip of the solder iron
-Slowly raise the solder iron of the pin
-The pin should pop right Out !!!
Goodluck!!
P.S make sure when ordering a new key fob that the metal battery contacts are the same as your old key fob.
