Installed a new k&n CAI on my 02 a4 1.8t and now it's throwing this code. Ideas on how to fix it? Please help

Check the wiring harness connection to your N75 Wastegate solenoid. Here's the description of a P0243.

- Faulty wastegate solenoid
- Wastegate solenoid harness is open or shorted
- Wastegate solenoid circuit poor electrical connection

I suspect during the installation of the supposed K&N CAI you caused an electrical issue.

Personal opinion: Ditch the intake and go back to the stock airbox. It actually brings in cold air instead of turbo heated air from underneath the hood.

My 2 cents on CAI's: a few years ago I put one on. Changing my own oil on a higher-mileage engine, I used to send out the oil for analysis about every 3rd change (3k intervals, dino oil on a non-Audi). The first time I sent it out after the cai installation the silica content went quite a way up. I repeated the test the next change and got the same high reading. Silica=sand=bye bye K&N. Next sample after returning to stock had the silica back to nominal.
