Default 2015 A4 oil update

During the holiday my kid came for a visit. This is the 2015 A4 dealer service car we purchased a few months ago with 500 miles on it. It now has 3600 miles where the last oil change was done a 500 miles. The bad news is they still use oil and the good news is they use a lot less so far. Both measured by the MMI and the dip stick the oil is down by approx. 1/8 th of a quart. Although still not to my standards it appears it will not be an issue for every 5000 mile service. Just wanted to give you an update FWIW.

Yeah, they do consume oil. I can see it on my wife's 2015 Q5 w/4 cyl. It's minimal, but it still consumes a bit. Maybe 1 qt over the 10k mile interval.

There are some design flaws in the 2.0T. Until they come up with a whole new engine I think we'll continue to see some oil use.

I'm also about 1qt per 10k in my 2014

Considering this was the 2nd generation 2.0T I would have thought they had figured it out what the design issue was and how to correct it. With the hundreds of thousands of engines out in the market it would have been nice to correct the problem. I do admit they have a great marketing team but with the VW fiasco going on they have a need to up their game. The 2.0T goes into the VW too so all share the new platform in 16. Hey what is , is .

OK the car just turned 5800 miles and we bought it with 500 miles on it. Just had the dealer do an oil change done and the dealer recorded the oil level before the change. Based on judging where the line was it appeared to be between 1/4 and 1/3 down from full. So oil usage was minimal for what I would call 60/40 city/highway driving. Dealer service manager recorded oil level and attached to the service slip for history. Oil change was no cost and they also did a tire rotation , checked all fluid and topped windshield fluid. Car was washed and vacuumed prior to returning. So we'll live with it and will follow up every 5000 miles to see how it goes.
