2016 A4 -- in detail

"Not an actor."
I know it's only a subtle difference, but I like the exterior of the B8 better (granted, I just bought a 2015 A4, so this may be partly attributable to cognitive dissonance).
The extra space is nice, especially for those of us who have kids, and the new engine certainly is interesting, but I'm a little disappointed.

- S-line interior looks great in the pictures.
- A 200lb. weight loss combined with the 252hp/273lb-ft 2.0T should result in noticeably improved acceleration. I would expect something like a 14.0s/97mph 1/4 mile.
Dislikes:
- Like everyone else, I was hoping for a more dramatic exterior change after the B8 generation has lasted for eight years.
- I am concerned that the increased number of gadgets and lightweight materials will increase the cost significantly compared to the B8.
I am anxiously awaiting the introduction of the S4 and pricing information. I will definitely consider the B9 when I am looking to replace my 2011 in a couple of years, but may lean towards the S3 if the B9 is too dull and expensive.

Right. ROW almost always gets a new model series about a year earlier than North America. Summer of 2016 for first NA MY2017 deliveries sounds about right.

I'm really disappointed in the B9 screen permanently mounted on the dash. You'd think that the designers, starting with a clean sheet of paper, could have developed a retractable screen as they did for the A6 and A3 or at least integrated the screen into the dash.

So the modifed MMI screen design is worse than I though. Looking at the video I just assumed that it folded and retracted. That would be bad enough, I think, because I like the integration in the dash in the B8. Well protected from sun light and fingers.
I'm not sold on the rest of the interior either with the straight line design. I wonder what design ideas created the lower part of the steering wheel.

I'm in agreement with what most others have said so far, however one item not touched on is the weight savings, Audi touts it quite heavily though I'm curious in some cases if it was a cost savings then the marketers spun it as weight savings.
Upper control arms that mount directly to the uni-body - though would take a really hard hit, imagine there are some cases that could cause body damage now where with the old design would be limited to the suspension only.
"A new carpet, an aluminum brake pedal and foamed defrost ducts in the air-conditioning system shave another four kilograms (8.8 lb) off the weight."
Aside from the brake pedal the other two just sound like cheaper and as a side benefit, lighter. Curious what the longevity of this new wonder carpet and foamed duct will be - Current carpet isn't much to begin with.
Also anyone find any additional details on the engine if they it will have injectors in the manifold or other means to deal with intake deposits?
