Auto darkening rear view mirror.
In my 2013 A4 2.0 TSFI prestige, the auto darkening rear view mirror is still too bright at night with a car behind me. I could see nothing in the green menu concerning this. Do I just have to put up with it, or is there a way to make it darker when it changes? Thanks for any info and help.

You can clean the light sensor on the frame of the mirror. When that gets dirty, it blocks light reception, which can cause to mirror not to dim as much as it should.
You can also try an experiment with a small flashlight or the LED on your phone: at night, trigger the dimming function by focusing that light directly into the sensor. That should result in maximum dim.
I'll say though that my allroad mirrors don't dim to the same low level I'm accustomed to with flip style mirrors, nor the auto dimming mirrors in some other cars, so maybe it's just an Audi thing.

Thanks Naughtie. I remembered after I posted this that I had an Oldsmobile Aurora years ago with this type mirror. It didn't get dark enough to suit me too, and there was no adjustment for it. I'm going to try your flashlight advice, but I'm thinking I'll just have to live with it.
