The existence of this thread proves that point.

I think the "leather" in the A4 is really cheap-looking and feeling. A couple of years ago I went for a ride in my friend's Volvo, and the leather was buttery soft.

I kind of feel the same way. My previous car was a 2005 Acura TL and the standard interior seemed much more "leathery" and soft. Of course, much of the leather had wrinkles and creases in it after a couple of years.

Interestingly, US News thinks the A4 has leather upholstery:

"Leather upholstery is standard in the five-seat A4, as are power-adjustable front seats. The standard leather upholstery is a nice touch, as many class rivals come with leatherette."

I guess I should have just checked my sticker rather than starting this thread, though it has been an interesting discussion.

"Leather Seating Surfaces"
"3-Spoke leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel w/shift paddles."

This is true. Others in this segment have synthetic leather as standard for seating.

I hope for the next model years my planning friends at AoA introduce some of the higher end hide options, like the Cedar Brown interior.
