Has anyone successfully updated their maps using an SD Card? I have tried 3 times now and the first two times it would start the update but then tell me there was an error and I needed to reinsert the SD Card. The third time I downloaded the update again and this time it told me there wasn't even an update file on the SD card.

Frustrating.

Downloaded the updates onto a folder on my PC, copied the contents onto an SD card (16GB was big enough).

I did a full MMI reset just before the update (I had just got the car, so nothing much was saved and nothing that couldn't be redone). The actual update in the car was fairly quick. I just let it run while doing other stuff in the garage.

The SD card was formatted as FAT in Windows. If you have a Mac this might be part of your problem -- you should be able to reformat a SD card as FAT on a Mac if this is the case. You might also try another SD card to rule out a bad SD card causing your problems, too.

Had I realized the download tool just dropped files into a folder I would have had the SD card in the laptop to start with instead of making two steps out of it.
