Just leased a 2016 A6 and they gave a hard sell on the tire and wheel package which i declined for now. Any thoughts on this? I also declined every other one they tried to sell.

I always include the tire and wheel packages in my lease. My last lease, MB E350, I had 5 tires replaced due to pothole damage. Saved me big time. It's a small price to pay over the term of the lease to protect your wheels and tires. If you live in an area where road issues are not a problem, then I would say no. Here in the Chicago area, it is a definite must.

I didn't have my car a month before using the tire & wheel insurance. Got a replacement tire the next day at no cost.

I probably wouldn't bother with tire insurance as I've never had it before. With that said I've already shelled out for one tire due to a pothole!

I get tire insurance when I buy new tires, it's usually a low one time fee ($15/tire here) and you're good for the life of the tire, of course it won't cover wheels but I haven't had any issues with bend wheels (yet).

Just keep saying "no" until they magically reduce the price by 50% or more. And then if you really want it, go ahead.
