Fixed! - does feel better to drive a car with the A/C running especially when it is 90 deg F and 90% humidity these days!
The invoice says pressure switch faulty - they replaced the switch and a seal. Great customer service at Audi West Houston to accommodate me today and to also deliver the car cleaned inside and out!

Yes, had the same issue with my 2013 A6. It had no more than 8000 miles on it as I recall. Must be a bad switch supplier. Quick repair, but still annoying when it happened last summer.
