Dash Cam

Just a quick note to say that I too recently installed a Thinkware F770 dash cam (front and rear). I had a local car audio/electronics store do the install and I couldn't be happier. From the driver's perspective, they installed it behind the rear view mirror so it can barely be seen. The rear camera almost disappears into lining at the top of the window.
Operationally, the picture from both cameras is sharp and clear.
View of the front facing camera from the driver's seat
View of the rear camera from the front seat... The camera is at the top of the window, left of center
The black color of the Thinkware practically disappears when viewed from head-on.
It is almost impossible to spot the rear camera.
A view of the front camera from the outside, up close.
A view of the Thinkware F770 from the passenger's seat. It is about the size of an EZ-Pass device.

Sorry for the delay... Here are the pics. I still haven't adjusted the camera angle. I might try to bring it up or down to eliminate the reflection of the dash.

[QUOTE=mdkv5;24911709]Finally took the plunge and installed a Thinkware F770 last week, but I couldn't install the rear camera because of the rear sunshade. Anyone got any ideas on how to install a rear cam on the A/S 6 with the sunshade?
Crappy cellphone pic:
I ordered the same3 unit. Did you do your own install, and if so, how much trouble to run the wiring for both camera's and where did you pick up power?
Thanks.

I did my own install, took me about 3 hours (and I'm a beginner). Took power from passenger side fusebox; the 2nd row has both always on power (CD/DVD player) and accessory (don't remember which fuse it was).
Just use a fuse tap:
It would have taken me a lot less time if I hadn't tried to use the black screw by the air vent as ground (tip: it is NOT grounded) so I spent a lot of time troubleshooting that.
If you have a set of trim tools (cheap on ebay or elsewhere) dragging the wiring along/under the headliner is pretty straight forward.

Thanks for the info, I too am a beginner and did with with the help here. I used the fuse tap on passenger side lower fuse block, #9 I think (see photo) was an ignition on only one (for adaptive lights, which I do not have, so plugged right in). The A180 dash cam I have I measured at most 0.6 amps, and the Drok 12-5.0V (measured at 5.1V) good for 3 amps, so in addition to hard wiring the Dash Cam I ran a USB cable behind the cabin filter cover and put 2 USB power ports on the center console. (Need to paint it)
Thanks again for the DIY info. Drok buck converter in top hole.
5A tap fuse, M8-1.25 nut to get a solid ground at top right, lots of room in there.
Need to get braver and cut a hole in trim for flush mount, or mount in glasses box.
