service interval

service interval
I drive ~6k miles/year and last took it in for service 12 months ago. Audi recommends service every 12 months, but is it an issue to wait a few months for that next service (with respect to the car or warranty).

If you have Audi Care, take it in yearly. If you're paying for service, at least get the oil changed yearly. Oil additives don't last forever and cold winter temperatures decrease it's longevity.
Have the car checked out for updates before the warranty runs out.

As an FYI, in order to maintain the warranty, you must follow the service schedule. Whether you do it yourself, take to an an indy shop or have it done by the dealer doesn't matter so long as (if other than an Audi dealer) you save receipts and keep a log of your DIY maintenance.

The heat and cool cycles of the day can cause condensation to form in your oil pan (like morning dew on the car) and get water in the oil. Normally, if you drive the car enough this just evaporates off and no big deal, however, if you don't drive the car a lot or just do short trips it can get sorta milky/mayo like (emulsification) and doesn't lubricate as well. Much more so if the car sits outdoors, but, unconditioned garages are no panacea. That's the reason for the yearly change recommendation.

Yes. You are correct although there is some leeway. I.e. Does not have to be exactly 12 m.
