Default A6 2.7t wont crank at all. Dont hear starter

Hey i got a 04 audi a6 2.7t with auto trans. I went to start my car but it doesnt crank at all. Cluster and all electronics work. But car wont crank at all. I cant find the starter as well as i know where the fuse would be located under the steering wheel but cant figure out which fuse it could be. Can someone please put me in the right direction.

There is no fuse for the starter.

Since you have an automatic, there is a starter interlock relay. Try the following:

1) Set handbrake,
2) Turn ignition switch to run position.
3) Foot on brake pedal.
4) Shift to Neutral.
5) Try starting car.

If this works, it is possible that it is your neutral safety switch. If not, it is possible that it is the starter.

Don't panic. If you have an Audi, you need to be prepared for the days that your car has problems. Buy a bicycle or a friend with a reliable car.

Do you have a good battery? Do headlights work? An 04 is unlikely to have the OEM battery, but it's 10 years old…the second battery might be dead.
Charge the battery overnight (12 hours) and then load test it or try to start the car.
You might try jumping the battery as well.

Amazing how many people leave the interior lights on in the back seat…my daughter has done it several times but I've caught it in the dark garage.

I just got her to start it slowly crabked once then started up. Im thinking that the ignition switch is to blame. Becuase now it fires up no problem but i see the cluster blur out and the radio has restrated while the car was running. Am i right that its the ignition switch?

Before tearing into the steering column, double check the condition and tightness of both ends of both battery cables
