Can a pcv breather hose be cleaned out?
I have a clogged pcv breather hose on my 2001 A6 2.7T. Can these be cleaned out with say carburetor cleaner or anything else of the sort? Or do I have to buy a whole new assembly once this happens? Someone at Audi told me that they can not be cleaned out because the valve is a one way valve. Is this true? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Ok, the simple thing is to see if you can clean it. Take it all apart and use the cleaner and clean it. If it works, you got the answer. Otherwise, get the part. IDK what else to say here...

It can be cleaned out. But the hoses get brittle with age/heat, and brake at removal/reinstallation. You can definitely clean the hoses(in small sections) and even replace them with thick rubber hoses if they brake and you don't want to brake the bank. As far as the check valves, the small ones are cheap(never cleaned one), but I did clean a suction jet pump(3 way valve) that was completely plugged(2.8l engine, don't know if 2.7l has it). I used tie wire and carb cleaner. That was a temporary solution until I bought a cheap(Chinese made probably) suction pump off amazon(I think), which runs fine.
