I have a 98 audi a6 and my ecm is not communicating with vag com or my obdeleven. I tested them on another car and they worked fine. I tried multiple ecm's and get the same result. My check engine light does not come on. The car just cranks and will not start. I already checked my fuses and pulled the other control modules (tcm climate control, radio, instrument cluster, comfort control module ) I havent pulled the air bag module yet. Any idea on what I should do next??

Did you pull the ABS connector? That is the most common one for a read error....ask me how I know.

not yet it's alot of work to pull and the weather here has not been friendly but hopefully I can tommrow.

It's really not that hard to release the latch mechanism and pull, search the forums for further detail and use the How-To's tab at the top of the page, alot of new members miss that one.

BTW, when I say ABS connector I'm talking about the one under the hood for the ABS module attached to the ABS unit.

I read your post wrong..I already disconnected the ABS connector ..I'm still having the same problem

Well you actually never mentioned it in your first post, sounds like other issues exist.
