Default Parking control module 4f0910283B

Hey, i just swapped in a 4f0910283B from a plain 4f0910283 i had to enable visual parktronics. I did the coding and i now have the option in mmi menu but when i put on reverse screen flickers and stays on radio screen. Any word? Also does mmi software updates the parking control module? Is the parking control one of the module that gets updated with the 4610 update cds. Maybe am thinking the module was never updated with the old donor car?

I just installed a rear view camera in my A6, here's the thread at Audizine with all the details. Coding Rear View Camera

An MMI update doesn't update the parking control module as far as I know, or any other modules other than the Sirius and bluetooth.

The 4F0910283B should be an updated version of the 4F0910283 - my understanding is that it's just as compatible, unless it came from a European car or something. Things get wonky when you do that.

Does the screen go black then back to the MMI? Any fault codes when you scan the car?

You need to check that all your rear sensors are actually active. A short sound is emitted when reverse gear is engaged and signals the system is active.

Here's how you test those:

1 - put your hand/electric brake on
2 - put the car in reverse
3 - have someone put their ear to each of the 4 sensors and there should be a soft clicking sound coming from each one

If you have a sensor which is faulty then the whole system will not work and you will get precisely the issue you've stated - with the screen 'flipping' from one thing back to another.

Yeah but you said you got it working even with the faulty sensor, did you bypass it or something? You said you got it to show up even with the faulty sensor

Here's how you test those:

No, you cannot bypass the individual sensor. Mine would work intermittently as the weather got warmer, for some strange reason. But the only real fix was the replace the sensors themselves.

Mine's an 06...as for module ??? But I'm assuming it's either B or D

4F0 910 283 - 4 sensors, no graphical support
4F0 910 283 A - 4 sensors, no graphical support
4F0 910 283 B - 4 sensors, graphical support
4F0 910 283 C - 8 sensors, graphical support
4F0 910 283 D - 4 sensors, graphical support
4F0 910 283 E - 8 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support
4F0 910 283 F - 4 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support
4F0 910 283 G - 8 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support
4F0 910 283 H - 8 sensors, graphical support, rear view camera support

If your car has one of the first two modules listed above you won't be able to enable this via VAGCOM.

I have B. Is it expensive to replace sensors? Do you recommend aftermarket sensors?

I can't recall exactly where I got it, but I believe it was about $50 for the sensor and then additional $$ to have it painted to ensure it matches the color of my vehicle.
