you did not state which engine you have but I would shut her down immediately . You are very very lucky , that piece of frayed belt gets caught up in the timing belt and you are in a world of hurt. It would even be worth whatever it costs to have that car towed to where you get the timing belt serviced.

I think you are an extremely lucky individual , don't push it.
