I have a 2005 A6 Quattro. My old in-glove box 6 disc changer jammed, and was damaged getting out of glove box. I ordered a new one which came in on 3/24. I kept the old non-functioning one plugged in so the whole MMI continued to function for about 5 weeks while waiting to get new one. When I plugged the new one in, it activated and the dashboard screen showed the first disc I put in correctly. However, the sound pulses. It plays for a second, is quiet a second, plays for a second, is quiet a second... I unplugged the fiber optic and looked at the end, and noticed the red fiber optic light blinks on and off. I do not know if it is supposed to and if this is the problem. I have done a factory reset as the owner's manual indicates, and it has not helped. Does anyone know how to get the player to fully operate now?
