I think the lack of this feature is due to the size and possibly the shape of the A7

That's always been the explanation, because the A7 body bulges out a bit more than the A6 below the mirrors. But something would be better than nothing. When you have a wide car, often you want to park a bit more toward a curb on one side and away from the car on the other side, and the top visual would be helpful...

That's the problem with Audi. They remove one feature from a newer vehicle and put it in another that didn't have it. I sent them a lengthy email and complained about all the accessories and features that were not available to order for the 2016 A6. No traffic sign recognition but yet it's available in the A3. There were several other accessories and features that were not made optional for you to order. Send them an email and complain about it. They took the time to respond to it. Promised they're forwarding my email to the engineers and designers.

Thre are options...go buy something else. I'm a HUGE car nut and have bought over 60 new vehicles. Have not found a perfect one yet.

I don't mean to sound insensitive. I get that it's okay to voice your opinion. I do it too. But many times manufacturers have to invest in vehicles in a more competitive segment, and in some cases it's easier to wait until a major refresh to add features.

The C7 has not yet updated the MIB2 displays as found recently in the new 2017 A4 and Q7MKII. Due to lead times and design/production schedules, new features like the new systems are staggered out as later models are released. The MY2016 C7 got MIB2 "lite" and the MY2017 will likely have the MIB2 "full meal deal".
