Regarding Michelin Pilot Super Sports, I have a Corvette GS that came with Goodyear run flats. When I changed over to Michelin PSSs (non run flats) it transformed the ride and handling of the car (for the better). It was so noticeable a change that my wife will now ride in the car. With the Goodyears the ride was so stiff that after about an hour or two her back would begin to ache. Turn in is also much crisper and they are also very quiet. There is a reason that the Michelin PSSs rate at the top of the charts for summer performance tires. I'm sold and I don't think that you will regret getting them.

I had to replace the all season touring continental tires on my A7 after just 7000 miles because of the wonderful Michigan roads. Rather than replacing the Continentals I upgraded to the Michelin Pilot Sports AS 3. The side walls are thicker than the Continentals so I figure the chances fo developing sidewall blebs would be less likely in the event I hit the unavoidable potholes in Michigan. I had those tires installed last summer. Overall the handling on dry and wet pavement is far superior to the OEM tires. They are a bit more nosier too. What surprised me was was that they are NOT AT ALL an all season tire. They were absolutely useless in snow! It did force me to purchase a set of winter tires and wheels which allowed me to down size to an 18" rim for winer and put alittle more sidewall between the potholes of Michigan and my A7.

What size tires do you have? I have the 265/35R20 tires but the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 does not come in that size but I can go with the 275/35R20 size since another A7 member on this forum did the same without any rubbing issues. Speedo will be within 1% error margin.

I recommend the Yokohama Advan Sport A/S. The design is not unlike the Michelin AS 3 but they are very quiet and a much better buy, too. I'm going on 8,000 miles with them on my A7 and they are superb all around. I'm not in a snowy area but the early reports on Tire Rack are positive for winter traction.

Did you by any chance get them properly road force balanced with the hunter machine rather then a simple cheap dynamic balance? Michelins run smooth and have very round tires but occasionally i get some michelins that need to be properly road forced (match mounted to my rims) to eliminate the annoying vibrations. Noise is a separate story and goes away after break in due to mold compounds on the tires. I don't think you fully broke them in properly and rushed to decision.

And do not believe tire rack with a June arrival. They push that date back every damn month.
I went with 275 35 20. If you look at the tire converters, 275 is the recommended plus one from the stock 255/40-19. Only 1.1% diff. And the 275 has .25" taller sidewall than the 265.

Good luck getting the 265 or 275 35-20 Super Sports. Not one distributor in the U.S. Has them. Spoke with a tech rep at Michelin USA. Both sizes are on national back order. The last shipment of those sizes to the U.S. Was in June 14. The rep said the factory in France that makes those sizes has not specified any future production date. Normally, he can see any production as far away as 120 days. His comment: I'll bet ya we never see those sizes in that model again.

Yeah I live in southeast Michigan in Bloomfield/Birmingham area and I drive alot to downtown detroit daily and I try to be extra careful with the potholes we get in downtown. So far its been good but god I hate these soft continentals. I do have a separate winter wheel/tire set so I will definitely get the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 soon. I can't wait!! Thank you so much for your valuable feedback!
