Failing LCD screen...check your battery
Hey D2 Owners,
My LCD screen by the speedometer was starting to fade out. I figured it was the much talked about "failing LCD screen" problem. I have 107XXX miles on the clock and the 107 in the 107XXX could hardly be seen.
My battery failed to start my car on a -10 degree day. So I replaced the battery and the LCD screen shines bright and legible again. Probably like it did the day it left the dealership in 2001.
Long story short, check your battery power before declaring you have a failing LCD screen and replacing it or tearing your dash apart trying to fix it.
Good Luck.
