Hi, my starter gave up, and I cant no longer start the car, can I be towed by another car for 10km distance, or it would damage the transmission?

I would not tow it. Get it on a flat bed.

I'd probably do it for 10KM but not 50KM. The main issue I suppose is lack of pressure lubrication to the trans output shaft?

I´ve been told its ok for 10km, but with max speed 40km/h, I will give it a try, hope later there will be no tears

To be clear this is flat-towing like with a tow rope and in neutral and not towing with two wheels on a dolly or on a tow truck lift. Two wheels up, if it works at all, would cause problems after a pretty short distance.

Everything went well ! just to let you know 10km at speed max.40km/h, you can tow your A8/S8.
