The UFO brakes were a way to maximize the rotor diameter and thus the brake cooling. While some did not like them, I like them a lot. One top of the improved performance, it also makes brake pad replacement a snap.

I always considered replacing them with the "outboard" brakes a downgrade due to the decreased rotor diameter. Now if you are racing with the UFO style, then you may run into warpage issues but for normal driving, they are problem free for me. Some have complained about stop and go traffic causing warpage, but I guess I am not that aggressive a driver. My 91 200 20V turbo was my daily driver and I drove in stop and go traffic daily without issue.

I had a 1990 Audi V8 Quattro, amazing car. It went over 250,000 miles until the trans went out on it.

Here is a link to the long-body version with some pics of the interior

I had a 1990 V8 Quattro, and I loved it! One thing I learned from that car was the value of anticipating stops, that is, minimizing braking. Outrageously expensive rotors.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned it, but the long wheelbase version is the only one with this pocket in the rear doors;

So I did. Forgive me, I haven't had enough coffee yet.
