It's kinda difficult to answer that question. Probably the best answer is that it is a general knowledge, but it is more interested how do you know that left headlight is adjusted lower when that is not true? Is that some alternate fact?
Asymmetrical lights are something totally different. They project longer beam to the right side for right side driving and the opposite for the left side driving, but they are same for left and right headlight.

Ok, I used the wrong words. The "non alternate" fact is that the purpose of the asymmetrical headlight is to have shorter or "lower" beam on the driver's side.
I understand it is not achieved by physically adjusting the headlight but using a different projection.
