Help with Leveling Suspension
I periodically get this error code in the Level Control Module(34)
1 Fault Found:
01772 - Signal from Level Control Pressure Sensor (G291)
008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00101000
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 5
Reset counter: 176
Mileage: 219517 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2016.07.20
Time: 15:14:5
I would like to get rid of the error, plus fix the issue if I can. I get no other codes in that module and the car seems to be at the correct level on all sides(no sagging). But I travel a lot with this car and I do not want it to go out when I am out of town. Plus I do not want to ruin anything else. My question is can I run any tests with my VAGCOM to tell me why this code displays. The only other thing I can tell you is that it SEEMS the lift mode takes forever. Should I rebuild the compressor(I cannot remember the guys name that sells the kit) or replace the Solenoid Valve Block where the sensor(G291) lives. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I had this, and ended up having to replace the valve block. I had a thread started on it from awhile ago, but from what I was told by other members here, it's very rarely the valve block that goes bad. I just got lucky!

Check the sensor contacts first. Apply some contact spray. VCDS measure the air pressure . It should be close to 16 bar. If it is much lower try to rebuild, or a new compressor.

Another Stupid Question
First of all thanks for the replies, To check the air pressure, do I go to adaption and which channel etc... I have been researching this site as well as others and am a member of Alldata and cannot find how to test the Level Control module. Is there a document/post somewhere that will help

ran a test on MVB channel 06-1 for pressure sensor and............
10.74 bar. Is that too low and indicate rebuild compressor or replace valve block?

10.7 bar is 155 PSI. If I recall that is almost too much. I could be wrong.
A worn compressor ring means that the compressor will take a long time to reach operating pressure. In extreme cases it will never reach proper pressure.
