Life expectancy on air suspension

I think mine is going because every time I parked on my driveway
As soon as I turned off the engine, get out, I can hear the hissing from the suspension and never in the garage.

Ah... that's what happens... locked vs unlocked... Yes..

Some work at 120K
Mine went to 115K, then the compressor would trip out on high temperature. VAGCOM advise low pressure from the compressor. New PTFE compressor ring from Bag-piping Andy (£25) and a new - behind the glove box - relay from Audi (£20) and everything is back up and running strong at 125K.

Mine has over 230,000 miles on it and still has the original shockers . Unfortunately it isn't garaged and with all the wet weather in the UK it doesn't have the easiest life .

So, I am guessing this is normal....i.e. it is supposed to bleed out as soon as you lock the doors? Mine does it every time I hit the keyfob to lock the car - always from the front suspension. (I park indoors, always on level ground).

Fronts go at 60-80, rears seems to hold up better but clearly they are starting to fail based on a sample size of 3-5 people on this board and that rebuilders are starting to think about stocking them...
There seems to be a correlation between extreme temps and lifespan. Extreme heat wears fronts (rubber dries out faster?) and in cold weather any leak shows up through leakage (but once temps raise the suspension holds air again).

It would be interesting to see the correlation between suspension failure rate and local climate conditions.
US weather is far more extreme than Europe and from what I can see most air suspension issues seem to be from NA owners, particularly those in colder climes. Same was the case when I was researching Jag XJR X350's and Range Rovers which all have air suspension. I also think that NA road surfaces in the snow belt being several magnitudes worse than you would ever see in Western Europe must also be a factor.
