It sounds like a stuck button. One of the last you pressed before it started.

yup... I had that just happen to mine. I had two buttons stuck. the lower < and > buttons are close to the cup holders and my wife managed to spill something in them. Id start with that. Its easy to fix...

1. remove ash tray
2. remove T25 screw under ash tray
3. gently pull out ash tray cover and un plug 12v socket.
4. remove two T25 screws that are now visible
5. Gently pull up on center console trim. It will come out (easier when in neutral)
6. unplug all connections
7. flip over center console, find the 4 torqs screws (i think T15) remove them. Then remove 4 more from the black plastic.
8. remove the volume ****
9. remove the screws from the MMI **** (two on back)
10. Un plug the center **** and remove it.
11. remove plastic and board.
12. soak buttons in soapy water.
13. rinse, dry, and rebuild

Mine came back to life perfectly!
