Use 1/8 pop rivets. 1/8 washers to prevent pooling rivets into plastic. Add a very tin piece of metal between aluminum and plastc so when you remove it clip is free to rotate.

OK..i'm fairly handy fixing things, but i just cannot figure out how to get this fixed. The metal arms open and close fine, but i cannot get any movement once they are fully open or closed.
This creates an issue when trying to get everything aligned for a pop rivet.
Can someone provide more detailed steps?
I have the kit from Nathan, but unsure exactly how to go about this.

When you turn off ignition blind stops. Use that to stop it in a better position.

I've been working on a *preliminary* set of installation tips & hints....one caveat is that I've been away from my A8 for about a month (not due back to it until later this month), AND I'm sort of running from memory of the earlier install . That said, I've attached my first "draft" of the install notes - please be aware that this is still a work in progress, but at least will provide some direction/etc for the install in case this helps (but again is subject to changes since it's still a living document at this point).

Thank you for the instructions...they are helpful.

One remaining issue...how do I get the arms to stop mid-swipe? I tried with door open/closed...using key and keyless. No matter what I try, the arms continue to move to full close or open.

Anyone figured out what the root cause of the clips breaking is? What causes the over stress? Is it the clips wearing out slightly allowing them to bind in the track? Would some sort of lubrication help?
