Not driving the A8 for 10 days... charger?
I've heard some rumblings on here about needing a battery maintainer or charger if you don't drive your Audi for long periods of time, but that length is never really defined. I will be on vacation and not driving it for 10 days, do I need to run out and purchase a battery trickle charger?
Thanks....

Have let mine sit out to about 3 ½ weeks w/ zero issue.
If it lost charge in 10 day type scenarios, either it isn't going to sleep or the battery is heading south. When I gave my earlier battery the heave ho it could only hold a starting charge a few days max--it fell off a cliff quickly.

Thanks guys, sounds like that if it can't pull a 10 day stretch- it needed to be replaced anyway. Nice to know.
I will keep a battery jump pack charged and handy in case i need it upon my return.
I wish I was driving the A8 to Oregon....

my 9 year old battery is still working after 9 days sitting in the garage
I don't lock the door, I leave the key in the cup holder... every time when I got back, started right up.

BTW, proximity of the key fob to the car when it's off will not make a difference to the step down energy "sleep" features.

we're always leave the keys in the cars so whenever we go
they're readily available, and I'm sure it's convenient for the thieves too. I think this year when we go on our vacation, we'll put the keys somewhere in the house instead.
