Default SDS retrofit issues

hi all,
I recently decided to add SDS to my 06 D3.
for giggles I priced the module from Audi spare parts, $1600 exchange, thank you very much.
Ebay it was then.
I found an entire Kbox tuner, with the SDS module still inserted for 150AU posted, 2ish weeks later it arrived In Australia.

My car left factory with the Motorolla car phone, I upgraded that to the bluetooth unit before I got the SDS module.
That all worked flawlessly.

I dropped the sds into the kbox in my car, and component protection came on of course.
Being my closet Audi dealer is 400km away took a while to get up there.
CP removed by the dealer-no questions asked how I got the unit Erie! Asked them to code it in for me while they had the car talking to other computers.
Went to pick the car up, and the service staff told me they had issues with the coding, had a hard time getting it into the gateway?

I have a cheap cable while I save for the Better one, but it does give me limited acces to coding.

I have turned off the bt and turned on the sds as per a8resources, but its not working.
When I go into 19-Can, 67 is ticked (voice control) and 77 (telephone) is unchecked, as per a8resources.
When I check that module for fault codes, I get: 1fault, 01043 - control module, incorrect software version.
I don't have bt phone currently, and When I push the sds button on the wheel, I don't even get 'but. Not in use' in the display

Car MMI is 3460
Is it a simple case of I just need to update the MMI?

Thanks for any assistance
(Ps the AMI install was not this hard, it just plugged and played! )

I did both of those retrofits and didn't have problem (except CP). I don't know why should you uncheck Bluetooth. Only thing there is to set no voice control under telephone. Than you will be able to control it via SDS. You should start with real VCDS scan. It looks like you are using European MMI software. So the newest one is 5570. You can download it here. Be sure to burn it to a quality media.Update might help.

Default is working now

I did look at downloading the MMI update, but decided to buy the discs from Kufatec.
Ordered them weeks ago, they had to come from Germany.
Seriously-that long for 3cds in the one case?!!!

Hooked the battery charger up to the car correctly and sat in the car for 2 hours.
It wouldn't let me run cds 1 and 3 twice, cds 2 ran twice to update the bt phone.
End result, mmi is now 5570, I have working sds and bluetooth phone.

The update didn't auto select sds to update, so I went in, selected a language and It worked.
Now to learn all the commands it wants from me to be able to work.
Getting the hang of that quite easy.

I have missed the BT phone, made me feel like I was driving a low spec car not being able to talk and drive.

Just trying to install sds module
Getting module not recognized message with vcds.
I have checked 67 voice control and set 77 telephone from 2 English to 0 no voice.
I am waiting for Mmi update disks to arrive. I am already running 5570 row
The question is do I need to run the disks to get to recognize the sds.
As I do not have the cp message as its not even recognized.
And yes did Mmi reset.
Any help would be much appreciated

What are the other 2 slots in the k box ?
they are all pinned the same as the first and the sds works in all of them.
Anyone ? For 3 different people ?
Also wonder how much this option was new?
When I was speaking to Jack over Skype I asked about cp on the wide screen later model instrument cluster and said its no problem.
And thanks to Andrew ( dodski ) I thought I was finished retro fitting.
