Default Which TPMS for 17" rims?

I'm running 17" rims with dunlop winter tires and I'm wondering if the 433 mhz is still the correct pressure sensor for this combination? I have an '07 A8L sport package with 19" stock rims. I had the 433mhz installed recently but the pressure reading from mmi is off about two pounds when cold. I use a moroso dial type gauge.

Thanks

MHz has nothing to do with wheel size. It has to do with country in which car is sold/located and relevant frequency regulatory compliance.

Don't assume gauge calibration is correct any more than sensors, more so with more likely drops over time. If aftermarket sensors don't assume same level of QC as OES either.

If the tire change and related pressures spec'ed were very different, you could go in with VCDS and change the parameters. Never heard of anyone doing it even though its documented.

Do look up recommended pressures for size you are running though. On a pre-2007 the various sizes would likely be on the pressure sticker. After that stickers were dumbed down to a single number for only wheels and tire size shipped with car originally, courtesy of the Ford Explorer fiasco.

Ok. Thanks for the reply.

This is a bit off topic but here is my other question. After having the TPMS installed I had an alignment done. I've had the car two years and never had one performed so I figured why not. I immediately noticed my steering felt lighter than before, I kind of liked the heavier feel. The wheel was straight on the highway but is this normal on these cars?

I wouldn't say the steering is light or over boosted like many an old stereotype American car or a lot of Japanese designs and car SUV stuff. I also have factory 20's with 275/35's so those are going to make the steering both more direct and somewhat heavier. You don't say what size tires either, but for example if you dropped from 255's in the 19's to something like a 235 in winter tires, the yet narrower size will also lighten the steering.

A guess, but also check your tire pressure. They could have pumped the tires up a lot, which will also make steering lighter.

Had you driven on the 17in winter combo before or was this the first time and that is when you noticed the "lighter" feel?
