Compressor came in from Germany today 2nd day air. Needless to say I was highly anticipating arriving home from work to find it in the garage waiting for me! Got it reinstalled in about a half hour or so but I'm leaving the fender liners out for a few days in case I notice any pressure drop while it's parked. I've currently got it parked in the garage after a lengthy test drive and everything seems to be operating exactly as it should. It will remain parked in the garage, left in the lift mode, with jack mode enabled until the weekend to rule out any leaks. The compressor ran for about 40 seconds initially to raise the front from the bump stops, and it set on automatic. Once the wife and kiddo hopped in with me after it warmed up, it compensated for our body weights and the compressor fired for about 8-10 seconds to re-level and it stabilized. Lift is disabling at speeds over 75 miles per hour...If I don't notice any settling by the weekend, I think I'm comfortable with the conclusion the relay just cooked the compressor. Also as a side note, there has to be some sort of signal that is either sent by the pressure sensor or the temp sensor that operates as a "proving" switch before power will be applied and the compressor voltage terminals energize. My guess is one of the two on my old compressor finally just cooked and shorted to ground which is why the cars computer never sent voltage to the old compressor after it stopped working. I'll try to follow up after this weekend with an update. I'm optimistic I dodged a bullet on replacing struts or the valve body at this point in time. BTW, highly recommend the company I bought the compressor from Miessler Automotive out of Germany. Had it here in 2 days, it's new, not refurbished, and its an original WABCO OEM part at 50% off the dealer and ECS...Thanks for the responses, and I hope this helps someone down the road.

Paging Mister Bally. Time to validate and regale us about WABCO again...
(Inside joke and no worries; stay tuned if he bites...)

Never looked at these parts before but what's the deal with this one $200...
For Audi A8 Compressor air suspension pump gas-engine 6/8 cylinder 4E0616007

Note that some have bought and had to replace in short order. Also, the $199 version has been noted as being loud.
You get what you pay for.

Strange their feedback isn't too bad. I suppose it comes down to duty cycling, and how these inferior materials can take the heat, and pressure/forces.
Chicago electric lol - I just got a little saw from them for cutting plastic. Works OK.
