Default A little; welcome to newer Audi's...

It's a byproduct of greater quiet and more sealing. If you look down in the door with the window open, you should (now) see an inner seal that brushes against the glass. I think it occurs mostly as the window gets almost all the way up. Thus, on my D3 with maybe 5 years on the tint now, particularly the lower inch or so of the front windows has some vertical scratching. 2013 Q5 with <2 years of tint life is already showing it a bit too.

How long did you let the tint dry before using the windows? I let mine sit for about 9 days before using the windows.

I have an 05 with tint but I've only had the car a little over two years and no visible scratching. I don't know how long the tint has been on the car though. I recently tinted the fronts and it has helped with keeping the heat down.

Yes, there is a way. Find what is scratching it and fix it. Nobody can do that for you online.

A simple solution for complicated people (Audi owners).

Default I always thought windows tinting is for people who want to hide

their faces for some odd reasons... people behind ugly cars... doing ugly things inside the car... I thought Audi A8 D3 is a great looking car... why tinting?

Cheers,

Louis
